BetterShips can supply and install different models of Marine fenders and dock accessories, offshore products, and floating fenders in compliance with ISO 17357-1:2014 which specifies the material, performance, and dimensions of high-pressure floating pneumatic rubber fenders which are intended to be used for the berthing and mooring of a ship to another ship (STS operations) or ship to dock operations (STD) berthing and mooring of a ship to pier structure.

BetterShips has the knowledgeable, quality, and technical departments with qualified and certified personnel to perform the different non-destructive tests according to IACS and ISO requirements:

  • Penetrant test (PT);
  • Magnetic particles test (MT);
  • Ultrasonic examination (UT);
  • Leak test (LT) vacuum test method.

Each vessel is subject to regular technical reviews of structures and components including hulls, pipes, pressure vessels, and structural steels.

Our staff is qualified and certified to perform the following types of inspections by international standards and according to the most important IACS members.

  • Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM);
  • Inspection/measurement for class renewal;
  • CAP & CAS inspection/measurement;
  • Inspection/measurement of intermediate, annual, and renewal range;
  • Steel estimation and dry dock preparation (repair specification);
  • Evaluation of ballast and cargo tanks;
  • During measurements, we use spark-free equipment of the class that allows us to perform the inspection without removing the paint coatings.

General Workshop Fabrication

General Workshop Fabrication

We also offer repairs and fabrications of metallic structures and tanks following the different construction codes. Fabrication for steel and pipe can be performed according to drawings and client requirements. Outfitting items such as strainers, covers, steps, ladders, supports, trays, ventilation louvers, and gratings are realized with quality and fulfilling the client’s expectations.

BetterShips has all the equipment necessary to accomplish thermal spraying of metal using zinc, aluminum, and copper, through a portable arc spraying system.

Electrical Repairs

Electrical Repairs

Skilled technicians with high-quality workmanship specifically trained to troubleshoot all electrical faults onboard ships provide 24/7 service to ships alongside or offshore for on-site electrical repairs, overhauls, and installations of all kinds of electrical equipment.

Safety comes first to us and we ensure maximum safety of personnel and crew onboard.

Heat Exchangers

Heat Exchangers

BetterShips repairs and manufactures Tube-Type Heat Exchangers with tube bundles, baffle plates, and body shells according to ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1. Including cooler, heater, and condenser.

Besides new fabrications, we also have all the necessary tools for professional maintenance and repairs of the bundles of heat exchangers, retubing and rebuilding nondestructive testing equipment, pressure testing, and vacuum testing tube-by-tube to determine the total integrity of the system.

Steelworks

Steelworks

We carry out steelwork such as shore and marine structures on ship’s shell plating, deck, and internal structures in-vessel components like coamings, hatch covers, cell guides, and deck fitting. All our repairs are according to the IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) regulations making use of qualified personnel and certified welders.

Pipe Works

Pipe Works

We can develop high-quality pipefitting according to isometric and 3D scan drawings as well as on-site measurements and samples to be fabricated in our workshop.

We can develop pipe fabrications according to drawings and on-site measurements. These samples are carried out in our workshop. We also offer on-board modifications of existing pipe systems as well as new piping systems according to drawings and the client’s indications.

The repairs can be carried out in ports, anchorages and during voyages always attending to the client’s requirements.

We only perform as per IACS class-certified welders in SMAW, TIG, and MIG procedures.

For hydraulic pipes, we perform chemical cleaning after pressure testing and before installation.

Ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasonic is a high-quality cleaning procedure utilizing ultrasonic energy to deep scrub the parts and a liquid chemical to rinse away the residue and loose particles.

The ultrasonic method can penetrate and clean any surface that can be reached by a sound-conducting liquid.

This means that blind holes, thread roots, parts with complex geometry, minute surface contours, and several otherwise impossible cleaning tasks can be easily accomplished using ultrasonic cleaning technology.

BetterShips can perform Ultrasonic cleaning from valves to engine parts and components like cylinders, cylinder heads up to air charge coolers, heat exchangers, turbines, etc., from diverse materials such as steel, copper, aluminum, and more.

As an additional service, BetterShips makes use of a portable Tube-Guard-XL technology for internal mechanical pipes. A brush cleaning system is used with corrosion inhibitor and bio-film removal which is safe for all tubing materials.
